The Rhythm of the Seasons

Happy 2023 Wildlings!

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

This long of a break wasn’t intentional, but has been so very needed. Taking the time, to heal has allowed me to shift and grow. I feel like I am returning to this space with all of the energy that is swirling around right now, refreshed, and inspired.

One of the shifts I’m making in my life is to live in rhythm with the seasons, slowing down and dropping into the cycles of nature. This magickal life that I seek to live calls me to align with and soak up the energy and rhythms of each season.

It’s February and many in western society are eager to rush onward, to jump into the new year full speed ahead, ready to bring into fruition whatever is needed to feel productive, feeling tired of the dark and cold, and longing for the spring and warmth.

But loves. It is still winter.

And the still wisdom of this cold dark season begs us to enter the new year slowly, to stay in our little caves of hibernation just a little bit longer. It is during this quiet time we discover our own wisdom and hear our own voice.

This is a much-needed part of the cycle of life. It is the season for practicing rituals, starting habits, and setting intentions. A long, restful pause where our roots grow deep down into the earth, giving us a solid foundation on which to grow our lives.

I am allowing myself this time to understand and feel my way into the magickal life I’m creating, because what’s really important right now is to rest, restore, listen, and slowly intuit the rhythms, plans, and dreams that are waiting to bloom in the coming year.
